C. Vivian Stringer earns 500th victory with Rutgers women’s basketball in 77-56 defeat of South Alabama

The Rutgers women’s basketball team opened its 2019-2020 season with a 77-56 win on the road over South Alabama on Tuesday night. The game marked another career milestone in the return of Hall of Fame head coach C. Vivian Stringer, who earned her 500th victory as the head coach at Rutgers. After missing the end of last season due to health issues, Stringer opened her 25th season on the banks with such a significant victory.

Redshirt junior guard Arella Guirantes scored a career high 27 points on 10 of 19 shooting and 4 of 7 from three-point range.
