Kemoko Turay earned rave reviews for his performance in Rutgers' season-opening loss to Washington on Friday night. A hybrid defensive end/linebacker who displayed flashes of NFL first-round talent three years ago as an All-Big Ten Freshman selection, Turay has been a shadow of his former self the past two seasons as he battled shoulder injuries.
He's healthy now, drawing the praise of his Rutgers coaches throughout the summer.
This is what Rutgers defensive line coach Shane Burnham said of the 6-5, 252-pound Turay midway through training camp, when discussing how the defensive coaching staff planned to utilize his pass-rushing talents.
