A family legacy is continuing On the Banks.
Zach DelVecchio, the 2019 NJ State Champion at 220 pounds, committed to Rutgers and will be in the room come Fall 2019.
DelVecchio’s older brother Scott was a 2018 All-American at 133 pounds when he finished 6th in Cleveland for the Scarlet Knights.
The news was announced on Twitter from Pat Mineo and confirmed through another source as DelVecchio, who was seemingly unsure if he would play football or wrestle at the next level, ultimately decided on the latter.
In South Plainfield High School history, DelVecchio only trailed Rutgers 2019 National Champion Anthony Ashnault, Joe Heilmann, and older brother Scott in career wins.
