As Jarrett Guarantano's decision nears, former Rutgers QB Gary Nova says 'there's no feeling like representing your home state'

Gary Nova understands the appeal of leaving New Jersey to play college football.

The Elmwood Park native initially committed to Pittsburgh, but after Dave Wannstedt was fired as head coach, Nova landed at Rutgers. He started 41 games from 2011-14 during a roller coaster career, and the Don Bosco Prep product says experiencing the highs and lows while representing his state school is something he'd never trade.

"There's no feeling like representing your home state," Nova said. "Whether you win or lose, just walking out on that field representing your home state, there's nothing like it.
