Arella Guirantes has been the catalyst for Rutgers all season and that continued on Saturday afternoon.
Guirantes scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Scarlet Knights past Illinois, 75-46, at the RAC. This win makes it five in a row for Rutgers.
The Scarlet Knights gained control early on leading the Illini 20-13 after the first quarter. They built the lead up to 19 heading into halftime after a 21-9 second quarter.
Guirantes led an offensive attack of Rutgers that shot 47.8% from the floor and knocked down seven shots from beyond the arc. Diamond Johnson continued to impress scoring 20 points and finishing 4-8 from three-point range.
