Anne Donovan, a Ridgewood native and basketball Hall of Famer who won collegiate, WNBA and Olympic championships as a player and a coach following a storied high school career that saw her named The Star-Ledger's Player of the Century in 2000, has died of heart failure.
Donovan, who starred at Paramus Catholic and coached Seton Hall toward the end of her career, was 56. Her family confirmed her death in a statement.
"While it is extremely difficult to express how devastating it is to lose Anne, our family remains so very grateful to have been blessed with such a wonderful human being," the statement said.
