The Minnesota Vikings continue to re-tool their defense after signing free safety Xavier Woods to a one-year deal that could pay him up to $2.25 million.
Woods started 15 games for the Dallas Cowboys last season, racking up the second-most tackles on the team with 72 and one passes defended. The Vikes will take any help they can get in the secondary after allowing the seventh-most pass yards last season. Still, Woods had some concerning coverage metrics, allowing 23 completions on 29 targets for 250 yards and three touchdowns.
Minnesota acknowledged that their defense needed work and has added some notable pieces.
