At first glance Chris Christie would seem to be the logical replacement for Mike Francesa on WFAN radio. A former middling athlete now hopelessly bulbous, Christie is opinionated, garrulous, articulate, thin-skinned, prone to furious outbursts and in possession of just enough sports knowledge to embarrass himself.
In other words, the perfect New York sports radio host.
And the Big Apple, one has to have a gimmick. Christie’s would be that he’s the first sports talk radio host broadcasting from prison. Oh, you’ve forgotten that he’s not out of the woods in the Bridgegate scandal?
