The price was right indeed for Jeffrey Raymond, a defensive lineman at Division II Minnesota State Mankato.
Raymond and several teammates went to a “The Price is Right” taping for spring break, where he came on down as a contestant. He tried his hand at The Range Game, but went over when guessing the price of three recliners, a 70-inch TV and a popcorn machine.
However, he successfully spun the wheel to earn a spot in the Showcase Showdown. He bid $22,000 (in honor of the No. 22 worn by former teammate Isaac Kolstad, who suffered brain injuries in a fight with Minnesota QB Philip Nelson last year), and won $47,000 in prizes, including trips to New York and Paris, a new kitchen set, and a cooking course.
