CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict is waiting on a ruling from the NFL on a request he made to carry a handgun in the waistband of his uniform pants for his team’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Burfict did not specifically say why he would like to have a gun on the field, but did make it clear that the gun would be black, therefore matching one of his team’s official colors.
“I’ve got my reasons,” Burfict told reporters today. “It’s personal and that’s all I’m going to say about it right now. I’m sure you’ll see on Sunday the reason I want a gun on the field.
