Vikings confident Shaun Hill can handle RB duties until Adrian Peterson returns

MINNEAPOLIS — Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer today said that while the team is disappointed it will be without Adrian Peterson for at least the the next two months, the team is ready to move forward with backup Shaun Hill.

“Shaun is a professional who knows our offense well,” Zimmer said told reporters. “Most people don’t realize this, but he has 329 rushing yards in his career and four rushing touchdowns. I’d say he’s more prepared to play running back in the NFL than Julian Edelman is to play quarterback in New England. And Shuan might be older than most running backs at age 36, but he doesn’t have a lot of wear and tear on him for his age.
