Reyes has dealt with a few different ailments recently. He was scratched from the Tigers’ starting lineup on Friday due to pectoral stiffness, and he missed Saturday’s contest as well. He was able to return to the lineup on Sunday, but he’ll now be headed to the IL with a left intercostal strain. There’s a good chance that these two ailments are related, and it’s unknown how long he’ll be sidelined for. Derek Hill has been recalled from Triple-A Toledo to replace Reyes on the active roster.
That said, getting Reyes out of the lineup might be a good thing for the Tigers’ offense.
