COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Ryan Lochte is beginning to be feel the repercussions from his drunken actions and “over exaggerated” story from the Rio Olympics. Swimwear sponsor Speedo dropped Lochte today as an endorsement partner, and that financial hit to the swimmer was followed by a blow to his competition future with the United State Olympic Committee announcing the 12-time Olympic medalist will be banned from competing in the Olympics through 2019.
“A three-year ban is the longest we’ve ever levied for an American athlete,” USOC chairman Larry Probst said in announcing the punishment. “This shows how seriously we take what occurred in Rio.
