It turns out the Twitter account for the Scripps National Spelling Bee packs a major sting!
Though it emerged with two winners for the third consecutive years, glory was not meant to be for dozens of other young competitors, whose errors sent them over to the “comfort couch”, a place for the fallen competitors to calm their nerves after elimination, or even let a few tears out if necessary. It’s not where you want to be, but hey, I can’t spell these words either, so I’m not going to fault the kids for it.
Unfortunately, Twitter user/online warrior Kyle Chapman…or @kchapman_88…was patrolling the Twitter-sphere that night, and came with a take so hot that the Human Torch would be jealous.
