The Twins have placed Byron Buxton on the injured list due to a right hip strain, RotoWire reports. Buxton suffered the injury Thursday and now isn’t expected to return to the lineup until late May at the earliest. Buxton was off to a hot start, and there was some thought that this would be the season in which he would realize his immense potential. The problem for Buxton throughout his career have been injuries. One ability he doesn’t seem to have is availability. Buxton missed 36 games in the pandemic shortened 2020 season, 123 games in 2019, 75 in 2018, and 134 in 2018.
