Megan Ryan of Star Tribune reports that Twins first baseman Miguel Sano is headed to the 10-day injury list with a hamstring injury. Sano initially hurt his hamstring on Tuesday during Minnesota’s doubleheader affair with the Oakland Athletics. The injury comes at a time when the first baseman is really struggling offensively. Through 15 games, Sano is hitting just .111 with two home runs and four RBI’s.
Third baseman Josh Donaldson recently returned to the team after suffering a hamstring injury of his own, and now Minnesota has to be without another corner infielder.
The Twins had a projected season total of 88.
