Josh Donaldson has been on the injured list since Apr. 3 due to a mild hamstring injury he picked up on Opening Day. Donaldson was only able to register one at-bat before being withdrawn from the game and later placed on the injury list on Saturday. He’s remained with the team during that time and continues to participate in batting practice.
According to Twins beat writer Betsy Helfand, Donaldson could be ready to take part in some simulated games this weekend, and if all goes well, he could be activated at some point next week.
The Bringer of Rain will be eager to rejoin a Twins team that has raced out to a 5-2 record atop the American League Central.
