Traylor Traded for Nowitzki at 1998 Draft

Robert “Tractor” Traylor was as huge for Michigan as he was, simply, huge.

The 6-foot-8 power forward often straddled the 300-pound mark and once dunked so forcefully he broke a rim and shattered the backboard in a game against Ball State.

Traylor was part of one of the most lopsided trades in NBA history the night of the 1998 draft — the Dallas Mavericks drafted him sixth overall and dealt him to Milwaukee for Pat Garrity and Dirk Nowitzki.

Unfortunately in May 2011, Traylor died suddenly of an apparent heart attack at age 34.
