The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a splash ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline, acquiring forwards Nick Foligno and Stefan Noesen, as confirmed by Elliotte Friedman. Going the other are three draft picks; the Leafs sent a 2021 first-round pick and 2022 fourth-round pick to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and a fourth-round pick going to the San Jose Sharks. Friedman also noted that the Leafs would only be paying 25% of Foligno’s salary.
Foligno is an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season and adds checking depth to the Leafs for a playoff push.
