The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without starters D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Edwards for tonight’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers – this according to NBA.com’s official injury report.
Russell, whose last missed contest came on February 3, is said to be dealing with a hamstring injury. Minnesota is in action four times this week, so it is possible the club is just playing it safe against a rebuilding/tanking Trail Blazers squad.
The 26-year-old is enjoying a productive campaign, averaging 19.3 points, 7.0 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game.
Russell’s absence will likely result in more playmaking opportunities for fellow guard Patrick Beverley.
