Anderson has blossomed into one of the best shortstops in baseball, and the White Sox will be without his services for at least the next week. He suffered a hamstring injury on Sunday vs. the Angels, and he’s been out of the lineup ever since. He hasn’t recovered well enough over the past few days, so the White Sox have decided to place him on the 10-day IL. The move will be backdated to Monday, so the earliest he will be able to return to the active roster is next Thursday. Danny Mendick will take his spot on the active roster, but Leury Garcia has started at shortstop each of the past two days.
