Kelly Slater is one of the most recognizable surfers in the world, and for good reason. The crystal-eyed native of Cocoa Beach, Florida first came onto the professional surfing scene back in 1990, when he was just 18 years old. At 20, he became the youngest surfer ever to win a world champion title.
Slater would go on to be an innovator in the surfing world, breaking numerous records and performing tricks that that no one had ever seen before. However, it’s his record 11 world titles that he is best known for; the last of which he earned in 2011.
