In case you didn’t know, asteroids, meteors and comets are hurtling toward Earth every day — but they hardly ever hit us because space is so vast. The stuff that does strike Earth is relatively small, only puncturing roofs and denting cars and the like.
The big stuff so far has managed to avoid us, at least during human history. But there have been near misses. I call these God’s purpose pitches — His way of brushing us off the plate when we get too cocky.
But I’m afraid that we’ve now gone way past the point of the occasional chin music from the heavens, as God is actually getting ready to drill us with a fastball.
