Hulk Hogan won his suit against Gawker Media today, the jury awarding him (real name: Terry Bollea) $115 million. Gawker was naughty, they said: publishing a video of Bollea having sex with a friend’s wife, invading their privacy.
Gawker owner Nick Denton has said that a loss in this case would bankrupt his company, but is this really the end of Gawker and its satellite blogs, among them, Deadspin? Probably not in the immediate future — it’s my guess that appeals will stretch this thing out a while.
