Stephen Strasburg had to leave his Grapefruit League start earlier than expected on Sunday and sustaining a calf injury in the third inning. The injury occurred when he landed awkwardly following a delivery to Jose Altuve.
Injuries have been a concern for Strasburg throughout his career. He’s started 30 or more games just three times throughout his career and eclipsed 200 innings twice. Strasburg started the 2020 season on the IL, pitched five innings over two games before returning to the IL for the remainder of the season.
