Season delayed for Dallas Stars due to COVID-19 outbreak

Dallas Stars will have their season delayed due to a COVID-19 breakout. The Stars had six players and two coaches test positive for the virus, so the NHL has elected to postpone their first three games of the season. Those games were to be played in Florida, two each versus the Panthers and Lightning. As of now, the earliest the Stars would begin play is Jan. 19 in Tampa, with their home opener scheduled for Jan. 22 versus Nashville.

The Stars were a surprise team last season as they lost the Stanley Cup finals to those Lightning four games to two.
