Seahawks Sign 34-Year-Old Nate Boyer, Texas Long Snapper and Green Beret

He wasn’t able to walk across a stage in Chicago and shake Roger Goodell’s hand, but former Texas long snapper Nate Boyer has to be on Cloud Nine this weekend.

That’s because the 34-year-old Green Beret was signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on Saturday. After serving in the military and touring in places like Afghanistan and Iraq, Boyer joined the Texas football team at the age of 29 despite never playing football before in his life.

Here’s to hoping there’s plenty more football in Boyer’s future.
