Rondo Out for Hawks Opener

Atlanta Hawks point guard Rajon Rondo is out for the season opener against the Chicago Bulls, The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner reports.

Rondo was listed out for “health and safety” protocols. It is unclear whether Rondo has test positive or was a close contact for COVID-19.

In his absence, look for Kevin Heurter to support Trae Young’s minutes at point guard. Listed at shooting guard and priced at $3,800 on FanDuel. In 1,157 minutes on the floor together last season, Heurter averaged 18.2 points per game and had a usage rate of 15.2%.

A member of the Lakers last season, Rondo played 48 games, averaging 20 minutes, 7 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assist per game.
