Minnesota head coach Jerry Kill gave a very emotional press conference on Wednesday morning announcing his retirement at the age of 54 due to health issues.

Kill, who has a history of epileptic seizures, said he had two seizures before attending yesterday’s practice and just doesn’t have the energy anymore to continue as the Gophers’ head coach.

As the ultimate gut punch in an extremely emotional press conference, Kill said while fighting back tears: “Last night, when I walked off the practice field… I feel like a part of me died.
