ESPN Denver’s John Clayton reports that Fitzpatrick could be hanging up his cleats this offseason. The Broncos are one of several teams who have reached out to Fitzpatrick this offseason, and Fitzpatrick previously said that he still believes he can be a starting quarterback at the NFL level. That said, Clayton reports that the 39-year-old free agent quarterback is ultimately “going to be out of the mix” in 2021.
Fitzpatrick is coming off a sold season with the Dolphins last year. He finished with an average of 7.5 adjusted yards per attempt — the third-highest mark of his career — while racking up 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
