The Pacers had a massively disappointing season in 2020-21. They stumbled to just the ninth-best record in the Eastern Conference, and they failed to qualify for the postseason via the play-in tournament. That represents a significant step back from the team that finished fourth in Eastern Conference in 2019-20, even though the roster remained largely unchanged.
With that in mind, it’s not surprising that the team has decided to make some changes. The first move is reportedly looking for a new coach. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Bjorkgren has been dismissed, and the Pacers are expected to pursue a more experienced, established head coach this time around.
