Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto has been placed on the COVID-19 injury list. The timing comes after Realmuto has been day to day after missing the last two games with a knee injury.
It could be that Realmuto was added to the list for precautionary reasons as part of contact tracing, as it’s not entirely clear if he did test positive at any point for the virus.
Philadelphia’s backstop leads the team with a .314 batting average and has four home runs and 16 RBI on the season.
