Golf’s own version of March Madness is on display this week as the TOUR heads to Austin Country Club for the WGC Dell Match Play. Overall, 64 golfers will tee it up for three rounds of “pod” play before the 16 group winners face off in a single-elimination, bracket-style tournament to determine a winner.
Austin County Club and its 7,108-yard, par-71 layout are again home to this event. This Pete Dye design is believed to be the oldest course in the state of Texas, with roots going back to 1899 with two relocations from its original home.
We have an extremely strong field here as we are just two weeks away from The Masters, as the world’s best are looking to fine-tune their games and take a chunk out of the evergreen WGC paydays.
