While a year ago it was nearly impossible to stomach an April without gorgeous Augusta National on our TV screens, we now reap the benefits with a second Masters in only 22 weeks. We also get an extra dose of hype after Jordan Spieth; golf’s Golden Child is coming in off his first win in nearly four years at the Texas Open.
November’s installment saw record scores, and while a lot of that can and should be attributed to Dustin Johnson’s peak form, we need to remember how soft the Augusta greens played in comparison to normal. Late Saturday into Sunday, they did firm up close to their normal standards, and scores rose accordingly.
