If you know me then you know that I have the world’s most complete collection of matadors being gored by bulls. When the world gets me down, I just pull out one of the volumes of effeminate Spaniards being pierced in their skin-tight leotards, and I instantly feel better.
My favorite has always been this: it’s from 2011, and shows matador Juan Jose Padilla being gored through the jaw. Not only that, but the horn exited through his left eye. Pailla required life-saving surgery, and the ye could not be saved.
Result? Padilla’s nickname before the incident was the Cyclone of Jerez, and afterward it became The Pirate, for the eyepatch he had to wear.
