North Dakota is ditching its Fighting Sioux nickname and will pick a new one with the help of public submissions. All suggestions, thousands of them, were revealed on Monday, reinforcing that the public is a hilarious, if misguided and fickle beast.
The consulting firm hired to sift through the suggestions divided them into to two PDFs, one for actual consideration (121 pages) and one for rejects (321 pages), with rationale provided for each submission (provided the author provided one). Why they disclosed the latter is beyond us, but it exists and we are thoroughly entertained and eternally grateful.
