The Chicago PD says the crash investigation involving a Porsche registered to Lance Briggs is now officially closed -- and the NFL star WILL NOT be arrested or charged with a crime.
We broke the story ... the Porsche was found smashed into a bartending school on the morning of January 20th -- and no one seems to know how it got there or who was driving.
When cops arrived, there was no driver on scene. Cops would not say if Briggs was involved in the crash ... but TMZ Sports has confirmed the car is registered the ex-Chicago Bears linebacker.
