According to the Jesse Doughtery of the Washington Post, Jon Lester, Josh Harrison and Kyle Schwarber are among the several Washington Nationals players who are expected to miss time due to coronavirus protocols.
Nine players are currently in quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19, which has caused a postponement in the team’s first series of year, a three-game homestand against the New York Mets. Four players have reportedly tested positive and five are identified as close contacts. However, the team has yet to announce which players are affected officially.
The team was expected to begin a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves Monday but are currently awaiting test results to resume workouts at Nationals Park.
