6/10 6:51 AM PT -- Ortiz's assistant, Leo Lopez, says David suffered damage to multiple internal organs.
In a statement to ESPN, Lopez said, "Ortiz had to remove parts of the intestines and the colon and remove the gallbladder. His liver was damaged, too."
5:50 AM PT -- The shooting was captured on surveillance video -- you can see the gunman pull up on the street and fire at Ortiz from behind while he was eating at a table.
Cops say the shooting was at "nearly point-blank range."
5:35 AM PT -- Ortiz's father and other family members were photographed at the hospital, where they were speaking to media about David's condition.
