The Los Angeles Dodgers made headlines the day before receiving their 2020 World Series Championship rings. Ken Rosenthal reports that multiple balls from Trevor Bauer’s most recent start have been sent to the league to investigate a sticky substance. MLB officials sent out a memorandum in March noting that they would be cracking down on foreign substances being applied to balls.
The balls are from the Dodgers’ Wednesday game against the Oakland Athletics. Bauer allowed three hits and one walk in 6.2 innings while striking out 10. It was just Bauer’s second start with the Dodgers since signing the three-year $102 million contract this past off-season.
