MLB Can Ill Afford Delaying The Start Of The Season: Listen Up

With pitchers and catchers set to report in a few weeks, SportsGrid’s The Early Line host Donnie Seymour wonders why Major League Baseball (MLB) always seems to flirt with the idea of jeopardizing their season with a work stoppage. In this edition of Listen Up, Seymour comments that “(MLB) needs to start these seasons on time. You can’t miss spring training. You can’t push back the regular season till May at this point.”

The least any fan can ask of their sport is that they adhere to the schedule they’ve already outlined. The regular season ended in November, and it’s almost as if MLB Players Association and the owners decided to take a few months off instead of using that time to try to hammer out a deal.
