The Giants were forced to place two players on the 10-day IL on Thursday. Yastrzemski is currently dealing with a sprained right thumb, while Webb is dealing with a strained right shoulder. Nick Tropeano and Jason Vosler have been recalled to take their spots on the active roster.
The Giants have been one of the biggest surprises in baseball to start the year. They’re currently leading the NL West, which is arguably the toughest division in the league. The Dodgers and Padres remain the two favorites to represent the National League in the World Series, but the Giants have been better than both through the early part of the season.
