Michael Phelps won a silver medal in the 100M butterfly at the Rio Games on Friday, in what may have been his final individual Olympic race.
Phelps finished in a rare three way tie with Chad le Clos and Laszlo Cseh for silver, posting a time of 51.14. They were unable to catch Joseph Schooling of Singapore, who won the gold and finished with an Olympic-record time of 50:39.
The silver is his 27th career Olympic medal, adding to his hardware collection as the most decorated Olympian in history.
Phelps has won four gold medals at these Olympics, winning the 200M individual medley on Thursday and the men’s 4x100 meter relay, men’s 200 meter butterfly, and 4x200 meter freestyle relay earlier this week.
