Seattle Seahawks defensive end and noted eccentric Michael Bennett is in an excellent mood these days, and for good reason. On Dec. 30th the 31-year-old signed a three-year contract extension worth $31.5 million, with a reported $17.5 million in guarantees. That’s a decent chunk of change for a player his age.
Not only that but his Seahawks are headed back to the playoffs with a home game in the wild card round against the struggling Detroit Lions. So there’s a lot for Bennett to feel good about this week, which is probably why he was a little slap happy during Tuesday’s media availability.
