Mets Sign Free Agent Reliever Aaron Loup

No one can say the Mets didn’t try to win in 2021. After signing catcher James McCann and then trading for Francisco Lindor, the Mets continue to bolster their bullpen with left-hander Aaron Loup’s signing. The ten-year veteran pitched to a 2.52 ERA last season with the Tampa Bay Rays and struck out 22 batters in 25 innings.

New York did not have many left-handed options on their roster with actual major league experience. Loup will help to fill that void and can also be used to face right-handed hitters.

He won’t be the only new face in the Mets bullpen as he’ll join Trevor May who signed as a free agent in November.
