Matt Stafford has a history of toughing through injuries and suiting up for his Detroit Lions. This may not be one of those times. According to ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler, the team isn’t “overly optimistic” on Stafford’s chances of playing against Tennessee on Sunday.
The Lions’ pivot showed the effects of an awkward hit and left in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers. Chase Daniel came off the bench for Stafford to complete just three of six passes for 29 yards. Daniel hasn’t started a game since October 2019 when he was with the Bears.
