Say it isn’t so, Marv! According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, NBA play-by-play guru Marv Albert could decide to hang it up at the end of this season. The man often referred to as “the voice of basketball” had a storied relationship dating back to January 27, 1963, when he called his first New York Knicks game filling in for the legendary Marty Glickman.
Albert was the Knicks’ play-by-play voice for 37 years before he was unceremoniously let go by Knicks owner James Dolan for being too critical of the team on the air.
