After a successful 16 year-run as an NFL analyst on ESPN, three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth has decided to jump ship and join his former colleagues over on Fox Sports 1.
According to Michael McCarthy of Sporting News, Schlereth was brought in by since fired President Jamie Horowitz with whom Schlereth was close from their mutual ESPN days. Horowitz was relieved of his position last week amidst sexual harassment allegations, but it is believed that the deal with Schlereth had been finalized by then.
The former Washington and Denver Broncos offensive lineman joined the worldwide leader soon after retiring in 2001 and had been a mainstay on the network and radio affiliates ever since, but per McCarthy, he was let informed by ESPN that his contract would not be renewed and granted permission to seek employment elsewhere.
