Marcus Smart did not appear on Wednesday’s injury report, indicating the potential for his return from a calf injury suffered on Jan. 30 in a 96-95 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
It was reported that Smart participated during the full-contact portion of Wednesday’s practice and could have a minutes limit. for Thursday
Smart played 26 minutes, scoring four points, two rebounds and seven assists. His return gives the Celtics a key piece to their production. This season, he has played in 17 games, averaging 32 minutes, 13 points, three rebounds and six assists.
In the nine games Smart has missed since the injury, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum saw a majority of the team’s usage, with Tatum recording 30.
