When we last checked in on Northern Illinois football, it had unveiled six possible designs for its new football field turf. A week later, the Huskies have come to a decision. UNI will go with the following layout:

We didn’t mind this layout, but preferred the one with the large Huskie shadow, which was the second one eliminated. Also, CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli points out that an outline of Illinois at midfield is similar to what Illinois does, which does take away from UNI’s look a bit.
